Buildings in Singapore are using smart systems with sensors and AI to manage utilities and manpower amid rising costs.
At The Floravale condominium, a sophisticated system developed by property technology firm Qornerstone has cut down security staff and streamlined resident services, creating significant cost savings.
Qornerstone CEO Ernest Ong points out that the built environment industry is a manpower-intensive one: "That is where the industry has no choice but to look into transformation by technology means."
Smart systems are integral to Singapore's net-zero emissions goal by 2050, helping properties and manufacturers improve energy efficiency and sustainability.
