Singapore is set to consolidate its efforts to build innovative enterprises with the formation of SG Growth Capital Pte Ltd, a new government investment entity resulting from the merger of EDBI and SEEDS Capital.
This strategic move, effective from April 1, 2025, aims to combine the investment expertise and networks of both organizations, fostering growth among local startups and attracting foreign companies to anchor key operations in Singapore.
SG Growth Capital will enhance collaboration opportunities between local and international firms and deepen its focus on startup financing, venture building, and deep tech. The board will be chaired by EDB Chairman Png Cheong Boon, with Cindy Khoo, Managing Director of Enterprise Singapore, as Deputy Chair. Choo Heng Tong, Executive Vice-President of EDB, will serve as CEO.
This initiative aligns with Singapore's broader economic priorities to solidify its position as a global innovation hub.
