Singapore asset managers can play key role in decarbonisation and digitalisation: MAS chief

Speaking at the Investment Management Association of Singapore (Imas) Investment Conference 2024, MAS chief Chia Der Jiun said that the asset management industry in Singapore is poised to spearhead global economic shifts towards decarbonisation and digitalisation.


Chia highlighted Asia's growth potential and the industry's capacity to drive sustainable investments, tapping into the region's burgeoning wealth and institutional capital.

Additionally, he emphasized the importance of asset managers in Singapore contributing to decarbonisation efforts and leveraging digital innovations, such as asset tokenisation, to enhance efficiency and market accessibility.


MAS is actively collaborating with industry stakeholders to facilitate this transition, reinforcing regulatory frameworks and fostering infrastructural development to support tokenised investment vehicles.
